The Polyvagal Hypnotis

Recent advances in neuroscience have deepened our understanding of how the autonomic nervous system influences safety, connection, and the capacity for change. Polyvagal Theory provides a framework for understanding how the vagus nerve regulates states of calm, defense, and shutdown—states that directly affect a client’s ability to enter and benefit from hypnosis.
In this presentation, hypnotist and holistic practitioner Gloria Jensenius will explore the intersection of hypnosis and Polyvagal Theory, translating complex nervous system science into practical tools hypnotists can immediately apply in their work.
Participants will learn how the vagus nerve influences rapport, trance depth, emotional safety, and client responsiveness to suggestion. The presentation will also demonstrate ways hypnotists can intentionally regulate their own nervous system and energetic presence to create a therapeutic environment that supports healing and transformation.
Drawing from both scientific research and clinical experience, this talk bridges neuroscience, hypnosis, and holistic awareness to help practitioners become more effective facilitators of change.
